Bristol – Brunel and Banksy!
November 4, 2011
Heard of Banksy the infamous graffiti artist? Then go have a look at his work from the little bridge which crosses Frogmore Street, down at Harbourside and other locations throughout the city.
There are many attractions in Bristol to keep visitors happy. Bristol Zoo has beautiful gardens as well as many animals such as lions, gorillas, seals and penguins, to name but a few. There are also areas where you can feed parrots!
Visit the Aquarium at Harbourside with it’s terrific underwater displays covering everything from Britain to more tropical settings. It has sharks, puffer fish, seahorses, lobsters, archer fish, piranhas and more. The underwater walk-through is amazing and not to be missed.
While you are at Harbourside, check out M Shed, a history museum telling the story of Bristol from prehistoric times right up to present day. I don’t know of another museum like this one, don’t miss it.
Board Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s SS Great Britain where you have a great way to spend your time. Don’t forget the famous Clifton Suspension Bridge designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel but sadly he never got to see it completed. Take a walk across the bridge to get a super view of the Avon Gorge.
As for shopping, there are literally hundreds of shops in Bristol. Cabot Circus is an immense shopping and leisure centre. You’ll find all of the popular High street shops here. There are many places to enjoy a break from shopping and enjoy a meal, a snack or just a coffee
